Application Definition

This step identifies the target focus group for the application and any key application requirements. Anything the client considers as key information should be provided as part of this process stage.

Examples of key information include:

  • Desired assets to incorporate within the application. Assets include 3D models, user interface widgets, terrain data and any other item contributing to the visual environment of the application.
  • Functional requirements of the application.
  • Draft user interface design.
  • Timeline of key events or application storyboard.
  • Key motion, animation or simulation behavior of assets.
  • Target end-user computer specifications required (minimum graphics card, memory, CPU power, etc.) to effectively run the application
  • Definition of any special multi-user or collaborative behavior that is required

The end result of this step is that enough information is provided to the production team to begin developing the assets, behavior of the assets and look and feel of the application.
