History

Founded in 1994, Global Majic Software, Inc. (GMS) is an Alabama corporation headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama. The founding principle of the company was to provide easy-to-use, quality components for software developers. GMS became known for affordable software components used to develop aircraft, automobile and industrial gauges and instruments for Visual Basic, Visual C/C++, and Delphi programmers. This popular instrumentation product line has expanded from the original four components to more than twenty-five ActiveX and .NET component products.

1996

Microsoft recognized GMS as an Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and Component Builder. GMS was one of the first companies to release a suite of development tools using Microsoft's ActiveX technology. This product line was nominated by Aviation Week and Space Technology for the "Technology Innovation Award" in 1998.

1999

After nearly three years of development, GMS introduced a 3D rendering engine to the world of ActiveX components. 3DLinX provided programmers the ability to create interactive 3D applications at a fraction of the cost previously associated with similar technologies.

2000

Global Majic Technical Services (GMTS) was formed as a subsidiary of Global Majic Software Inc., to provide consulting, programming and support services to government based customers in the Defense and Space industries.

2001

GMS established 3DModelWorks.com, an eCommerce brokering website for the exchange of 3D content. 3DModelWorks.com quickly became known as one of the premier websites in the modeling community as a source for quality affordable 3D models.

2003

GMS introduced a new line of .NET instrumentation commercial products. Although similar to the highly successful ActiveX controls, the .NET instrumentation components offer all the benefits native to software development within the .NET environment.

2004

GMS began development of RealTimeStudio, a proprietary visual content management framework and rapid application development environment to create data driven, interactive real-time visualization applications.

2006

Global Majic Technical Services was merged into its parent company, Global Majic Software, Inc., to form a single corporate entity. This merger solidified a solutions based business model using RealTimeStudio technology to rapidly create custom interactive visualization applications.

2007

In conjunction with The Boeing Company, GMS developed ICON (Interactive Concept of Operations), a tightly integrated interactive 3D technical presentation application consisting of a mixture of sources for terrain, CAD geometries, simulation data, video, and other informational documentation.

2008

GMS developments Media Toolkit. MTK is a set of tools that provide the ability to produce print resolution imagery and video animation in near real-time from an interactive application.

2009

GMS completed development of the initial release of the Majic Player Publishing System.

2010

GMS closed the first corporate license of the Majic Player Publishing System in January 2010.
