Publication ProcessA Majic Studio application or content package that is ready to be distributed to end-users enters the publication process. The publication process consists of two steps.
First, the Majic Studio Producer publishes the application using an option within Majic Studio. At this point a secure Majic Player installation package is created which is ready for installation in an appropriate Majic Player Publishing System. The published install package includes security information that will only allow the licensees Server Administrator to install the package on designated Majic Player Content Servers. Next, the Maijc Player Server Administrator, usually in conjunction with other members of the project team, decides on which Majic Player security and distribution options are relevant for the application. Once decided, the administrator installs the installation package and sets the various security and distribution parameters appropriately. The security settings may allow unlimited access or may limit access to specified Majic Player users. An output of the installation process is the content access file, represented by the .mcml extension, which is distributed to users, usually via an Access Web Site. A standard user with a properly configured Majic Player client application with access to the appropriate .mcml file and with network access to the Majic Player content server can download and run the application. |
