Why use gaming technology

Game playing has become a standard part of the developed world. Almost everyone has played some type of electronic game, whether it is played on a computer, console or hand-held device. Most games encourage the player to explore a pre-created virtual environment and they all have a specific objective. Some games include multiple players that play against one another, some play against the computer, some play for points, some include complex strategy, some have an educational element, but all are designed to be entertaining or fun on some level otherwise the producer of the game will not financially succeed.

In the corporate environment, there is a continuing need to communicate information to enhance the understanding of a topic to a particular focus group. The focus group to understand the information could be the general public as in gaming, but it can also be a more targeted group such as group of engineers, a group of managers, a group of executives, a group of employees from multiple companies that make up an integrated project team, a program evaluation team, a proposal review team, or any targeted group desired.

The visual element of gaming provides a common denominator that if harnessed properly can provide a standard platform across any focus group to quickly and efficiently communicate information that cannot be communicated using traditional methods.
