Ares FLIGHTAres FLIGHT is a presentation application developed for the NASA Ares Projects Office at the Marshall Space Flight Center, Huntsville, AL. Ares FLIGHT is used by Ares projects managers to communicate information during technical and status reviews of the Constellation Program. Ares FLIGHT includes detailed 3D CAD models with preserved product structures for Ares I and Ares I-X launch vehicles. The user interface allows a presenter to easily configure viewing so that specific assemblies are available as necessary for a given presentation. Additionally, the presenter may attach external videos, images or slide sets at any level of the product structure to support a presentation. The MajicStudio CAD Viewer and Video Manager are used to manage graphics resources allowing real-time viewing of the visual information using mid-tier laptop hardware and graphics cards. ![]() Ares FLIGHT provides interactive tools for viewing flight simulation data imported from NASA flight simulation applications. More than 100 simulation variables may be accessed at a given point in time. Ares FLIGHT dynamically displays data graphs of the imported data and all data variables are custom configurable by the presenter. The presenter can navigate to any point in time in the simulation by simply dragging the event time marker or can more closely examine data by selecting a desired data region. A configurable event list is available which highlights the key events that occur during the simulation, thereby allowing instantaneous navigation directly to that point in time in the simulation. The high quality interactive 3D visual representation of the simulation and vehicle staging sequences are correlated with the simulation data so that an accurate and engaging representation can be used to support presentation of the vehicles simulation data. ![]() |
