Orion / EMEW

Global Majic Software provided support for the development of the EPG Electronic Proving Grounds Orion Electromagnetic C4I Analysis Tool and the Electromagnetic Engineering Workbench (EMEW) applications.

Global Majic developed core georeference libraries and tailored the MajicStudio application framework and its Scene Generator to support the Orion requirements. Global Majic's terrain manager tools were combined with custom developed graphics to support the display of electromagnetic wave propagation analysis over digital terrain.

The tools are used to show line-of-sight (LOS) and terrain masking effects. Graphics primitives were developed to display 3D antenna patterns from both simulated signal levels and measured antenna profiles, and allowed for the interpolation of data sets that display patterns at varying frequency and power levels.

Freznel zone graphics primitives were developed to visually predict interference and quality of service of communications between transceivers. The application allows interactive, time-line driven and simulated (DIS) manipulation of the entities within the digital terrain while performing electromagnetic analysis.
