Terrain Generation

We use several standard methods for generating ground based scenarios requiring accurate terrain representations. The MajicStudio earthView module pre-processes and optimizes terrain data from DTED, SRTM, XYZ, Openflight (.flt), and other GIS formats including the associated imagery files.

When the proper levels of detail are available, the result is a remarkably realistic journey as the camera's viewpoint perspective moves through the scene with an atmospherically degraded horizon and smooth ground to space transitions.

Using the various setings avaiable in the terrain loader and EarthView tools, customer provided terrain and imagery data can be seamlessly incorporate directly into an application scene.

Additionally, Global Majic has a Derivative Product Distribution Agreement with DigitalGlobe Inc. that allows for the inclusion and re-distribution of terrain and imagery data purchased from DigitalGlobe Inc. within a Global Majic interactive visualization application. This agreement provides streamlined access to detailed terrain data for any area of the world within a Global Majic custom visualization.
